Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is right around the corner. And while educators and students alike enjoy the extra day off, it’s important to remember just what made MLK such a remarkable leader.
In this month’s featured lesson, students will examine some of the most famous quotations from Dr. King and connect them to The Six Pillars of Character. Students will determine which of the Pillars each quote best exemplifies.
The lesson is perfect for an English or History class or an advisory/homeroom period. It’s a stand-alone lesson, but can also be integrated into a larger unit on Dr. King or the Civil Rights Movement.
