When you think TEAM, my guess is your first thought is drawn to an athletic team or any group of individuals that work collaboratively for a common goal. In some ways CHARACTER COUNTS!, does provide a framework to work in partnership with students, parents and faculty to make your school a great place to learn.  One of the defining elements of CHARACTER COUNTS! is the acronym TEAM – Teach, Enforce, Advocate and Model.  Simply put, this is the process for you to use in the implementation of CHARACTER COUNTS!

  1. What are three strategies you use to intentionally and explicitly teach CHARACTER COUNTS?

  2. We know that teaching character has to be more than words on a poster or lectures from teachers on desired character skills. What are some of the methods you use that seem to be effective in teaching CHARACTER COUNTS?

  3. How can you enforce the Six Pillars of Character in your class?

  4. What does it mean to advocate for CHARACTER COUNTS!

  5. What are the desirable behaviors that you think we should see in a school that models for adults and students the Six Pillars of Character?

  6. There are some schools that will say that model is the most important of the four in the TEAM process. Why do you think this is the case?
