Every day about 2,000 people visit CharacterCounts.org, but our traffic is bound to accelerate this Sunday, when CHARACTER COUNTS! makes 160 laps around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
That’s right — NASCAR driver Brett Moffitt will be racing at the Brickyard 400, covering those 400 miles with “CHARACTER COUNTS!” emblazoned prominently on his #66 Toyota and on his fire suit.
CHARACTER COUNTS! is already widely known because it is used in thousands of schools and organizations nationwide, impacting millions of young people each year. But being the primary partner of a racing team at the most famous track in motorsports — that kind of exposure is priceless. We hope it opens lots of new doors and gives us new opportunities to help more kids.
The #66 car may not be favored to win, and isn’t likely to be on television for three hours like the cars running up front, but it will certainly get some coverage. More than 150,000 fans will jam the stands, infield and any other visible vantage point they can at the famous brickyard, while millions more will watch the race on ESPN. (Tune in at 1 p.m. ET.)
We are so proud to be partners with Jay Robinson Racing and their driver, Brett Moffitt. It’s especially gratifying because of Brett’s relationship with CHARACTER COUNTS!. Brett grew up in a community in Iowa where CHARACTER COUNTS! is a household name, and he learned about the Six Pillars of Character in school and from his neighbors.
“I’m proud to bring a new sponsor into NASCAR but also to promote an educational program that is changing kids’ lives,” he said in a team release. “It wasn’t that long ago that I was sitting in a classroom and I know how important life lessons are.”
A big thanks to Brett and all our CC! partners across Iowa and the rest of the country. We hope all of you are as happy and excited as we are about the #66ForCharacter representing CHARACTER COUNTS! at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway — and hopefully at other tracks in the future. We wish Brett and the #66 team the best of luck and success in the race.
We’re eager to introduce CC! to a new audience and make new friends who join us in our mission of helping kids become better adults. If you heard about us through this partnership, please let us know by leaving a comment below. And, as always, feel free to give us a call at 800-711-2670.
