Academic Domain: Ability to Aquire and Remember Knowledge

Students demonstrate the ability to acquire, recall, and retain progressively complex forms of information enabling them to:

  • correctly identify and label;
  • develop a substantial vocabulary and correctly state definitions of terms, the content of theories and wording of rules;
  • utilize their thinking skills which focus on memory-in-action while utilizing memory recall during relevant activities and on-going tasks and making application of the acquired knowledge.

Key Beliefs:

I will be a better student if I act on the following beliefs.  I can:

  • learn and remember new information. 
  • utilize my thinking skills to apply acquired knowledge.

Application:

  • Use lists, flash-cards, and note-taking strategies to help you learn and retain information. 
  • Remember facts, lists, procedures and methods (e.g., the correct spelling of words, the boiling point of water, benefits of a good education, and the formula for determining volume). 
  • Develop a substantial vocabulary and correctly state definitions of terms, the content of theories and wording of rules.
