Webinar FAQ’s

What if I can’t make it to a live webinar? Can I still participate?
Yes — everyone who registers receives a recording of the webinar as well as a copy of the presentation once it finishes. If you have questions you would like to pose during the webinar, you can email them to training@jiethics.org and we’ll make sure to get to them.

What exactly is a webinar?
It's an audiovisual presentation on the Web. We conduct a live PowerPoint presentation, which you see on your monitor and hear through your computer's speakers. A chat room enables you to ask questions of the presenter and communicate with other participants during the webinar.

How do I sign up?
You can register online or print out the registration form and fax it with a copy of your check or purchase order. You only need to register one computer and can gather as many participants as you like around it.

OK, I've signed up. Now what?
Shortly after you register, we will email you a confirmation and some basic information. A few days before the webinar, we will send another email explaining how to log in and communicate with the presenter and other participants during the webinar. Make sure to print this out so you can refer to it in case you have technical difficulties.

Do I need special hardware or software?

You can join from a PC or Mac. Your computer will need:

Note that we may show video clips and video of the presenter. Those with slow Internet connections may not be able to view these features.

Can I speak during the webinar? How do I ask a question?
Depending on the type of webinar you attend, you will either be able to communicate verbally, in writing, or both. If verbal communication is enabled, the presenter will call on you to answer your question. Written feedback may appear as a discussion thread during the webinar or as part of a chat room exchange. The presenter will respond to unanswered written questions at the end of the presentation.

How long are your webinars?
Typically, 60 minutes: a 45-minute presentation and 15 minutes for questions and answers.

When should I log in on the day of the webinar?
Please begin the login process at least 10 minutes before the start time in case you have technical difficulties.
