Students at Portola Middle School in Tarzana, California, wrote "Taking a Stand," a play that focuses on the Six Pillars of Character. When they performed it in 2004, students at Portola High School filmed the show and produced a DVD.
Paul Richardson, the school's drama teacher, kindly submitted the play, along with an extensive list of discussion questions, to the CC! national office so that we could share it with others. Says Mr. Richardson, "It amazed me how much kids are willing to work to express their thoughts on what it takes to be a person of good character."
We encourage teachers to get ideas from this play or our Plays That Show Character Counts.
