It's the biggest celebration of character in the world.

Every year, the U.S. President, U.S. Senate, state governors, and officials around the world proclaim the third week in October CHARACTER COUNTS! Week. (See the official endorsements from 2012.) And every year millions of kids in dozens of countries participate. No matter what your political or religious affiliation, this event is about the universal values we share.

Coming soon ... CHARACTER COUNTS! Week contests!

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of CHARACTER COUNTS! Week, we’ll be holding four contests for schools and students everywhere. They'll give you a chance to show off your school spirit and creativity while having fun!

• Essay Contest: Write an essay describing how you or your school display character.
• Video Contest: Here’s your chance to channel your inner Spielberg and direct a short video clip showing how your school exhibits The Six Pillars of Character.
• Community Outreach Contest: Plan a community event highlighting the importance of character and tell us all about it. It could be a parade, fundraiser, dance — even your own contest.
• Quotation/Poster Contest: Design your own poster with an inspiring quotation. We’ll feature the best ones on our website.
