“Factoring Fast Food” and other lesson plans for March
March is National Nutrition Month, so we’ve put together a lesson plan that will teach teens to take responsibility for their eating habits. In this lesson, teens examine the fast food they eat, consider its nutritional value (or lack thereof), and learn how to make healthier choices in the future. Planting trees for CC!
An old Greek proverb says, “A society grows great when old people plant trees in whose shade they know they’ll never sit.” Six students from Citrus High School in Porterville, California aren’t old, but they’re engaging in similarly selfless behavior.
If you paint it, they will grow.
Murals on school walls are a great way to keep students mindful of the Six Pillars and the importance of good character. Last week, students at West Putnam School in Tulare County, California came back to put the finishing touches on “The Pillars of Character.”
