If you live in Southern California, your next trip to the grocery store could be a character-building experience.
Ralphs is promoting CHARACTER COUNTS! in every single store. You’ll see a rack of our products and information, a sign at the door, kids’ lunchbox stickers, and advertising in the store flyers. You’ll even hear our own Michael Josephson’s “Food for Thought” messages over the sound system.
Be sure to see all the Pillars in store and check out our CHARACTER COUNTS! awareness and parenting products. Even if you’re not shopping, please tell the store manager how excited you are that they’re celebrating good character. And pass the word on to everyone you know.
If you’re rolling a cart down the aisle and hear, “There’s a Pillar in my produce!” you’ll know you’ve come to the right place!

This in fantastic. Lots of my friends and relatives still live in Southern California where I was born, raised and go often to visit.
I will encourage them to shop Ralphs to support and reward them for carrying a line of character building items. I would love to have some of these products in Austin, TX, if they are not already here. I have young grandchildren for which I will buy the products.
Thank you Ralphs!

Recently, the California Interscholastic Federation awarded three Ventura County individuals the Champion For Character Award. There was a celebration in Long Beach with speeches by dignitaries from state government and sports media. Following the event, there was no recognition for the recipients beyond whatever local press would muster for their own favorite son or daughter. Ventura press remained silent. I understand that these things happen. However, if Ralph's in promoting Michael Josephson's concept that character counts, perhaps a mention of the CIF award and the names of it's honorees might be in order. My son, Mo, is among those mentioned at the ceremony. He has fought a couragous battle against leukemia to prevail in both sports and in life. Darry Eads is a local sports writer that has dedicated years of his life to cronicle the accomplishments of local athletes. Brian Fitzgerald, athletic director at Rio Mesa High School, has spent his life encouraging the kids that bring meaning to what it is all about, according to Brian. I keep telling him to retire but he keeps telling me that there is so much more to be done. I get the promotion but could Ralph's demonstrate some sincere attention to our local heros that have, in life, become models for what Mr. Josephson has been herolding for so many years. Character Counts.
