Urbandale, IA: Steering Committee Candidates' Pledge Signing Event

The steering committee of Urbandale CHARACTER COUNTS!, a project team of the Urbandale Action Council, has called upon candidates for election to the Urbandale City Council to make a public pledge of their commitment to the practice of good character in the current political campaign and in their term of public service, should they be elected.

CC! Week 2007 International Events

When we first contacted Mr. Chris French, headmaster at Whitsunday Anglican School, Queensland, Australia we were planning an article on international coalition members who were participating in CC! Week, 2007. What we didn’t expect to learn was that Whitsunday Anglican School began implementing CC! after a visit to a school in North Dakota. The strategies employed by Jim Hill Middle School in Minot, North Dakota inspired the staff and students to employ CC! in Australia.

Anderson, IN: CC! Week 2007, simply TRRFCC!

The Center for Character Development at Anderson University, the City of Anderson and Anderson Community Schools are celebrating Character Counts! Week 2007 with community events and school programs. Under the theme "Celebrating the Character of Madison County," the week's festivities focus on the people, places and images that make Anderson and Madison County such a special place.

Over 750 Anderson & Madison County families helped Mayor Smith & CC! Friends kick-off CC! Week 2007

Dickinson County, IA: CC! Week Goes Countywide

Several mayors and county supervisors have signed proclamations declaring October 21-27 as CHARACTER COUNTS! week in Dickinson County. It is also their intention to conduct their meetings exhibiting the Six Pillars of Character.

All Dickinson County schools will recognize the Six Pillars with buttons, Character colors, t-shirts, class projects and assemblies. Individuals and businesses can offer their support with signage as well as recognition and acknowledgement of good character in youth.

Fort Edward, New York: CC! Kick-off a Wild Success

Brita Donovan and Joanna Scotch of Fort Edward, NY haven't wasted any time since their Character Counts! CDS training this past summer. On October 18 the pair oversaw the official kick-off of Character Counts! in their community. The event, which dovetailed nicely into CC! Week, was a wild success.

Fort Edward students and staff were welcomed into their school building by balloon columns representing the Six Pillars of Character and colorful Six Pillar signs.

Wrightstown, NJ: Kicking-off the School Year with Character

The Character Counts! Committee of New Hanover Township endured its own version of summer school this year. After attending a CC! Character Development Seminar, the group met formally and informally to solidify their Character Counts! implementation plan of action. They directed their efforts toward educating teachers, assembling a school board presentation and planning activities for the 2007-2008 school year. Their hard work paid off in the form of a killer kick-off event.
