This community has promoted its involvement with CC! with such activities as:
-
the decoration of City Hall with Six-Pillar collages made by children at 52 recreation centers.
-
emphasis on the Six Pillars in sports and physical fitness activities during the "Family Fun and Fitness Fest."
-
"Caring" food drives and Six Pillars painting activities by the public pool.
-
Story-telling at the public library with a CC! theme, including instructions for parents on how to build character when reading to their kids.
-
"Good citizenship" litter-removal campaigns.
"Sure, there’s a lot of fun and games," said CC! Committee Chairperson Marcie Sims. "But we think we can combat violence and make our youth part of a positive society by highlighting these [Six Pillars]."
